Description

PCT/IB/383, INVITATION TO REQUEST OMISSION OF INFORMATION FROM INTERNATIONAL PUBLICATION AND/OR PUBLIC FILE ACCESS (PCT Rules 48.2(l), (m) and 94.1(e)). This form is used under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) to invite the applicant of an international patent application to request the omission of certain information from the international publication and/or public file access. This form is typically used when the applicant wishes to keep certain information confidential. Under PCT Rules 48.2(l), (m), and 94.1(e), the applicant may request the omission of certain information from the international publication and/or public file access if the information is considered to be prejudicial to national security or to the applicant's commercial interests. The request must be made in writing and must specify the information to be omitted and the reasons for the request. Form PCT/IB/383 is used by the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to notify the applicant of the opportunity to request the omission of information from the international publication and/or public file access. The form provides instructions on how to make the request and the deadline for doing so. The purpose of this form is to allow applicants to protect sensitive information from public disclosure, while still obtaining the benefits of international patent protection. However, it is important to note that the request for omission is subject to review by the International Searching Authority and the International Bureau, and may be denied if it is not considered to be justified. www.FormsWorkflow.com
