Description
Form PC 116 - ORDER FOLLOWING HEARING ON MOTION FOR CONTINUED COMMITMENT FOR TREATMENT OF INFECTIOUS DISEASE. This form is used in Michigan when there is a request to keep an individual committed to a facility for further treatment of an infectious disease. After a motion is filed and a hearing is held, the judge uses this form to record whether there is sufficient legal cause to continue the person’s commitment. If the court finds that the evidence meets the required “good cause” standard, the judge orders that the individual remain committed to a designated treatment facility. If the motion is not supported by adequate evidence, the judge dismisses it, and the individual must be released. This ensures that any decision to continue restricting a person’s liberty for health-related reasons is supported by proper legal and medical justification. Approved, SCAO. MCL 333.5205(6)(h), MCR 3.614. www.FormsWorkflow.com
