AOC-E-206 - APPLICATION FOR LETTERS OF GUARDIANSHIP OF THE ESTATE; LIMITED GUARDIANSHIP OF THE ESTATE; GUARDIANSHIP OF THE PERSON; LIMITED GUARDIANSHIP OF THE PERSON; GENERAL GUARDIANSHIP; LIMITED GENERAL GUARDIANSHIP; TEMPORARY GUARDIANSHIP FOR AN INCOMPETENT PERSON. This form is used in North Carolina to request that the court formally appoint a guardian to manage the affairs of an individual who has been legally adjudicated incompetent. This form may be used to apply for various types of guardianship, including guardianship of the estate, guardianship of the person, general guardianship (both person and estate), or temporary or limited guardianship depending on the specific needs of the individual. The applicant must provide details about the incompetent person, including their residence, the date and county of the incompetency adjudication, and must indicate the nature of the guardianship being sought. If guardianship of the estate is requested, a Preliminary Inventory must be included, listing the incompetent person's assets, income sources, and liabilities to assist the court in determining the appropriate bond and financial responsibilities.
