Description

LACIV-CTRL-242 - [PROPOSED] ORDER AND STIPULATION TO CONTINUE TRIAL, FSC [AND RELATED MOTION/DISCOVERY DATES] PERSONAL INJURY COURTS ONLY (CENTRAL DISTRICT). This is a Los Angeles Superior Court form used exclusively in Personal Injury Courts (Central District) to request a continuance of a scheduled trial and Final Status Conference (FSC). This form allows both parties to jointly stipulate to a new trial date and confirm whether discovery and motion cut-off dates will be based on the new schedule. It also limits stipulated continuances—only two are allowed: the first for up to 120 days and the second for up to 60 days. Any continuance pushing the trial date beyond 24 months from the complaint filing date requires a separate court order. Counsel for both plaintiff and defendant must sign and date the stipulation. Once approved, the judicial officer signs the order, and plaintiff’s counsel is responsible for giving notice. For Optional Use. www.FormsWorkflow.com
