Petition For Voter Registration Confidentiality {GF-43}

General Form 43 - PETITION FOR VOTER REGISTRATION CONFIDENTIALITY. This is a New York Family Court form used to request an order directing the County Board of Elections to keep a petitioner’s voter registration record confidential. It is available to individuals whose health or safety—or that of their children—would be at risk if their identifying information were publicly disclosed. Eligible petitioners include victims of domestic violence or individuals with existing address confidentiality orders through the New York State Department of State or a Family or Supreme Court case. The petitioner must explain the reason for the request (e.g., residing in a domestic violence shelter or being the victim of abuse by a family or household member) and may attach supporting documentation. The petition asks the court to issue an order requiring the Board of Elections to seal the petitioner’s voter registration record, making it available only to election officials as necessary.
