AO 88A (Rev. 02/14), SUBPOENA TO TESTIFY AT A DEPOSITION IN A CIVIL ACTION. This form is used in the United States federal court system to require a person to testify at a deposition in a civil action. The form explains that the recipient of the subpoena is commanded to appear at the specified time, date, and place to testify at a deposition in the civil action. If the recipient is an organization, it requires them to confer with the party serving the subpoena about certain matters, and to designate one or more officers, directors, or managing agents, or other persons who consent to testify on behalf of the organization about those matters. It also requires the recipient to bring with them to the deposition certain documents, electronically stored information, or objects, and to permit inspection, copying, testing, or sampling of the material.
