28.010 Gifts; Essentials; Acceptance To constitute a valid gift, there shall be the intention to give by the donor, acceptance by the donee, and delivery of the article or some act accepted by the law in place of delivery. If the gift is of substantial benefit, the law will presume the acceptance, unless the contrary is shown. A parent, guardian, or friend may accept for an infant. The officers of a corporation may accept for the corporation. O.C.G.A. §§44-5-80, 44-5-81
