JD-HM-42 - MOTION TO OPEN JUDGMENT AFTER DEFAULT OR NONSUIT (SUMMARY PROCESS/EVICTION). This form is used in the Connecticut Superior Court Housing Session to request that a judgment in an eviction (summary process) case be reopened. This form is filed by tenants seeking to reopen a default judgment entered due to failure to appear or respond, or by landlords seeking to reopen a nonsuit. The filer must explain why they did not participate in the original proceeding and, for tenants, provide a valid defense to the eviction.
