Description

PCT/ISA/223, NOTIFICATION OF DEFECTS WITH REGARD TO CORRESPONDENCE SUBMITTED BY THE APPLICANT (PCT Rules 92.1(b) and 92.4(g)(ii)). This form is used by the International Searching Authority (ISA) to notify the applicant of any defects with regard to correspondence submitted by the applicant in the context of an international patent application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). PCT Rule 92.1(b) requires the applicant to submit correspondence to the ISA in accordance with the Administrative Instructions. If the ISA finds any defects or irregularities in the correspondence submitted by the applicant, it will issue a Notification of Defects using the PCT/ISA/223 form. The defects may include, but are not limited to, missing or incorrect information, errors in the format or language of the correspondence, or failure to comply with the requirements of the PCT or the Administrative Instructions. PCT Rule 92.4(g)(ii) provides that the ISA may request the applicant to correct any defects in the correspondence within a prescribed time limit. If the applicant fails to correct the defects within the time limit, the correspondence may be deemed not to have been submitted. www.FormsWorkflow.com
