F 2081-2.3.ORDER.PAYROLL, ORDER RE MOTION TO: (1) AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF PREPETITION PAYROLL; (2) HONOR PREPETITION EMPLOYMENT PROCEDURES; AND (3) CONTINUE PAYING TAXES [LBR 2081-1(a)(6)], LBR 2081-1 and LBR 2081-2 provide a procedure for chapter 11 debtors WHO ARE INDIVIDUALS to obtain hearings on important motions within a few days after the chapter 11 case is filed. These are called "first day motions." LBR 2081-1 provides a list of common first day motions and checklists of facts to provide when filing specific motions. One of these motions is to authorize continued use of payroll procedures, tax payments, and to pay employees for recent work right before the bankruptcy case was filed. Sometimes the debtor needs a hearing on less than 48 hours of notice. LBR 9075-1(a) provides the procedure for obtaining an "emergency" hearing date from the judge. Sometimes the debtor needs a hearing but can wait longer than 48 hours. LBR 9075-1(b) provides the procedure for filing an application for a hearing to be held on shortened notice.
