This fom is used to update or correct information regarding a previously filed ground rent registration with the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT). Ground leaseholders are legally required under Real Property Article §8–706 to promptly notify SDAT of any changes to certain details in an earlier registration. This form allows for updates to key information, including the real property tax identification number, property address, name and address of the ground leaseholder, and the payee and mailing address for ground rent payments. Additionally, it can be used to correct deed reference information, update annual ground rent amounts and payment schedules, and provide historical details on the lease creation date. While changes to tenant information are optional, updates to the ground leaseholder’s details and payment recipient must be reported to ensure proper indexing in SDAT’s records. The form must be signed by the ground leaseholder or an authorized representative, and there is no fee for submitting these updates. The completed form should be mailed to SDAT’s Ground Rent Division in Baltimore, Maryland.
