Description
SC-2000 - AMENDMENT TO COMPLAINT (Fictitious / Incorrect Name). This is a Santa Barbara County Superior Court form used to correct or update the name of a defendant in a civil complaint. The form allows a plaintiff to replace a fictitious (Doe) name with the defendant’s true name once identified, or to correct an incorrectly stated name. Substitution of a fictitious name does not require a court order, while correction of an incorrect name requires judicial approval. The amendment updates the existing complaint without refiling the case and ensures the correct party is identified throughout the action. CCP §§ 471.5, 472, 473, 474. www.FormsWorkflow.com
