Sister State Judgments {CIV-37}

CIV-37, SISTER STATE JUDGMENTS, Refer to the most current revision of the Fee Schedule for the filing fee. Make check payable to the SAN DIEGO SUPERIOR COURT. JURISDICTION - This Court will process all judgments from other state courts. Sister-State Judgments from a federal court must be filed in the United States District Court. A certified or exemplified copy of the judgment or renewal of judgment from the other court must be provided in addition to the above forms. This must be a copy of the judgment signed by the Judge. This office will not accept an abstract or transcript of the judgment signed by the clerk. Interest is to be calculated at 10%, unless the judgment entered in the sister-state shows otherwise, or if the judgment creditor can provide a copy of that state's statute showing post-judgment interest is to be calculated at more than 10%. Enforcement of Judgment prior to service. If your case requires a Writ of Execution or Abstract of Judgment to be issued prior to the service of the Notice of Entry of Judgment, you must complete item 6 a or b on the reverse side of the Application for Entry of Judgment on Sister-State Judgment.
