SUPCT CIV -88 - ORDER FOR RELEASE OF IMPOUNDED VEHICLE. This form is used in San Diego Superior Court to obtain a court order directing law enforcement or an authorized storage facility to release an impounded vehicle to its registered owner. The applicant must present proof of current registration, a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, a declaration of necessity for early release, and proof of notice to the storage company. Upon issuance of the order, the impounding agency must release the vehicle. The registered owner is responsible for all towing and towing charges related to the impoundment, and any administrative charges authorized under California Vehicle Code section 22850.5.
