Description

PCT/IPEA/408, WRITTEN OPINION OF THE INTERNATIONAL PRELIMINARY EXAMINING AUTHORITY (PCT Rule 66). This form refers to the Written Opinion of the International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA) under PCT Rule 66. When an international application is filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), it undergoes an international search to identify prior art relevant to the invention described in the application. The Written Opinion is a report prepared by the IPEA, which evaluates the patentability of the claimed invention based on the prior art identified during the international search. The Written Opinion is issued after the international search report (ISR) has been provided to the applicant. It provides a preliminary assessment of the patentability of the invention claimed in the application. The Written Opinion sets out the IPEA's findings with respect to the novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability of the claimed invention, and any objections to the claims are identified. The Written Opinion is an important document in the PCT process as it provides the applicant with an indication of the patentability of their invention, which can be used to decide whether to proceed with the international phase of the application or to abandon it. Additionally, any objections or criticisms of the claims identified in the Written Opinion can be addressed by the applicant before the IPEA issues its International Preliminary Report on Patentability (IPRP). The IPRP is the final opinion on patentability issued by the IPEA and is based on a more detailed examination of the application, taking into account any comments or amendments made by the applicant in response to the Written Opinion. www.FormsWorkflow.com
