The entertainment industry includes various areas such as film, television, theater, radio, and music, and California law has specific requirements to protect minors who work in these industries. The DLSE-281 form must be completed and submitted to the DLSE by the employer seeking to employ a minor in the entertainment industry. Permission is requested, pursuant to the provisions of the California Labor Code and the child labor law regulations, to employ minors in the entertainment industry in work that is not hazardous or detrimental to the health, safety, morals or education of the minors.
