AFFIDAVIT OF COMPLIANCE WITH SMOKE DETECTOR REQUIREMENT FOR ONE- AND TWO-FAMILY DWELLINGS. This form is required in New York City when filing a Real Property Transfer Tax Return for the conveyance of a one- or two-family dwelling, or a cooperative/condominium unit within such a dwelling. The affidavit, signed by both the grantor and grantee, certifies under penalty of perjury that the premises is equipped with an approved and operational smoke detector. Compliance is mandated by NYC Administrative Code Article 6 of Subchapter 17, Chapter 1, Title 27, and Section 11-2105(g). The document must be notarized and accompanies property transfer filings.
