Instruction No 1 12.01 [1988 Revision] Definitions--Uninsured Motor Vehicle I The phrase "uninsured motor vehicle" as used in this [these] instruction[s] means a motor vehicle which has no bodily injury liability insurance applicable at the time of the collision. II The phrase "uninsured motor vehicle" as used in this [these] instruction[s] means a motor vehicle with respect to which the company writing insurance on said vehicle has denied coverage. III The phrase "uninsured motor vehicle" as used in this [these] instruction[s] means a motor vehicle with respect to which there was a bodily injury liability insurance policy applicable at the time of the collision but the company writing said policy became insolvent [within two years after the collision]. IV The phrase "uninsured motor vehicle" as used in this [these] instruction[s] means a motor vehicle with respect to which the identity of the owner or operator cannot be established because the motor vehicle departed the scene of the occurrence with or without physical contact between such vehicle and the plaintiff or the plaintiff's vehicle.
