CR-20, INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTING A THIRD-PARTY SURETY APPEARANCE BOND, The United States Attorney's Office is required to approve appearance bonds before posting. (See Local Rule 46-3.4 on page 2) To obtain approval, the surety must show equity in the property equal to or greater than the amount of the bond. The following items must be presented to an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) at any of the following locations to secure approval. ONLY when all of the following items are completed, will the AUSA consider the justification you are submitting. For assistance in obtaining the necessary documents or preparing the Deed of Trust, contact the defendant's attorney. L.Cr.R. 46-3.4 Review of Surety and Documentation by United States Attorney. Any affidavit of surety and any documentation required by this Rule must be presented to the Office of the United States Attorney. Within six (6) office working hours, an attorney employed by that office shall report to the Court approval or disapproval of the documentation presented.
