ATJ 1403.6 - ANSWER OR RESPONSE. This Illinois Supreme Court–approved form is used by a party to respond to a Complaint or Petition in any Illinois Circuit Court. The form allows defendants or respondents to admit, deny, or state they do not know the truth of each allegation. If the Complaint is not divided into numbered paragraphs, the filer may deny all statements except those specifically admitted. The form also provides space for asserting affirmative defenses or counterclaims, which must be filed at the same time as the Answer. A Proof of Delivery section documents how copies were served on the other parties, as required under Rule 11.
