ACR 614 - CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION AS PROCESS SERVER- INDIVIDUAL. This form is used in Riverside County, California, for individuals who intend to work as professional process servers. Any natural person who makes more than ten services of process within a calendar year, or who expects to be compensated for serving legal documents, must register with the County Clerk in the county where they reside or conduct business. The application requires the registrant’s personal and business information, confirmation of California residency, disclosure of any felony convictions, and a declaration to comply with state laws governing service of process. The registration must be accompanied by a $2,000 surety bond, valid for the two-year registration term, and first-time applicants or those with a lapse in registration must also complete Live Scan fingerprinting for Department of Justice and FBI background checks. Once approved, the applicant receives official identification cards authorizing them to serve legal documents.
