Description
521 - RESIGNATION OF RESIDENT AGENT. This form is issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and is used when a resident agent for a corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability company (LLC) resigns from their position. A resident agent is the individual or entity designated to receive legal documents, official notices, and service of process on behalf of the business. This form allows the resigning agent to notify both LARA and the business entity of their decision to step down. The form requires basic identifying information such as the business’s name, its identification number, and the name of the resigning resident agent. It also confirms that written notice of the resignation has been provided to the appropriate party within the business (such as a corporate officer, general partner, member, or manager). Once filed, the resignation becomes effective either when a successor resident agent is appointed or 30 days after the Bureau receives the notice, whichever occurs first. For corporations, once the resignation takes effect, the agent’s business or residential address is no longer considered the registered office of the corporation. www.FormsWorkflow.com
