Description
MOTION FOR A PROTRACTED CUSTODY HEARING. This form is used in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County when a party involved in a custody case believes the hearing will require more than the standard two hours to present all necessary evidence and testimony. The motion allows a petitioner—either the plaintiff or defendant in the custody complaint—to formally request additional hearing time by explaining why the case is complex or requires extended proceedings. Examples of such complexity may include issues involving domestic violence, abuse, mental health concerns, substance abuse, special needs of the child(ren), or involvement of government agencies. To file the motion, the petitioner must complete the required documents, including a Domestic Relations Information Sheet and a Certificate of Service, pay a filing fee, and submit multiple copies to the Clerk of Court. After filing, the petitioner will receive a scheduled hearing date and must notify the opposing party. At the hearing, the petitioner must explain to the judge why extra time is needed and identify the witnesses they intend to call, their relationship to the case, and the estimated time for each testimony. www.FormsWorkflow.com
