Description

LASC FAM 200 - STIPULATION AND ORDER FOR APPOINTMENT OF PRIVATELY COMPENSATED TEMPORARY JUDGE. This form is used in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, to formalize the parties’ agreement to have a qualified attorney serve as a privately compensated temporary judge in their case. This appointment is authorized under the California Constitution, the California Rules of Court, and local court rules. The form includes information about the attorney’s qualifications, scope of authority, and the types of matters they are authorized to decide—either all matters in the case or only specific ones. It also requires the parties to identify contacts for public access to hearing schedules and optionally allows for a public calendar website. The temporary judge’s authority lasts until a stated expiration date unless extended by court order. The form emphasizes transparency and public access, requiring that hearings be open to the public and that records and exhibits be handled as if the case were being tried in a courthouse. The judge must take an oath and certify compliance with judicial ethics, and the parties must agree on compensation. For Mandatory Use. Ordered by Presiding Judge under Calif. Rule of Court 10.603(d) pending local rule adoption. CRC Rules 2.830, et seq. www.FormsWorkflow.com
