PR.020 - ORDER APPOINTING CPURT INVESTIGATOR. This form is used in the Superior Court of California, County of Butte to appoint a court investigator in a guardianship case involving either the person or estate of a proposed ward.** The investigator is directed to conduct an assessment under Probate Code §1513(a) to determine whether the guardianship is necessary and in the best interest of the proposed ward. The form specifies whether the investigator is from Children’s Services Division (CSD) (for non-relative placements or cases involving CSD) or Family Court Services (for relative placements). The investigator must review the basis for the guardianship, assess whether it serves the ward’s best interest, and determine the proposed ward’s wishes, if any.
