Description
CC-DR-116 - MARITAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT (Family Law Art., § 7-103(a)(3)). This form is used in Maryland when a married couple has agreed to divorce and wants to formally document how they will resolve all matters related to the dissolution of their marriage. This includes agreements on alimony (spousal support), the division of marital property, custody and visitation (parenting time and decision-making authority) for any minor children, and child support. The form allows both spouses to state whether alimony will be paid, how long it will last, whether it ends upon remarriage or death, and whether it can be changed later by the court. For property division, the parties list which assets each person will receive, agreeing that the division is final and cannot be changed. If children are involved, the form requires a parenting plan and may include child support details or reference a prior court order. The parties acknowledge their understanding that while child-related terms and alimony may sometimes be modified, the property terms are permanent. By signing, the parties ask the court to incorporate the agreement into their final divorce judgment—making it enforceable, but separate from the core court order so that certain terms cannot later be changed. www.FormsWorkflow.com
