ORDER APPROVING LUMP SUM SETTLEMENT. This form is issued by the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court after reviewing and approving a settlement agreement between an injured worker and the employer/insurer under Neb. Rev. Stat. § 48-139. This order confirms that the settlement application complies with Nebraska law, reflects the compensation schedule, and serves the best interests of the employee. Once the approved lump sum payment is made, the employer and insurer are discharged from further liability for the injury. In certain cases, if § 48-139(2)(b)(ii) applies, the order may specify that disputed medical bills will remain unpaid.
