FORM 15.3 - GUARDIAN’S BOND. This form is used in the Probate Court of Stark County, Ohio is used to establish a financial guarantee that a guardian will faithfully perform their legal and fiduciary duties when managing the estate of a ward. Required under Ohio Revised Code § 2109.04(A)(1), this bond protects the ward’s estate against mismanagement, negligence, or misuse of funds by the guardian. By signing the form, the guardian (principal) and, if applicable, their sureties (guarantors) agree to be financially liable—up to the specified bond amount—if the guardian fails to properly carry out their responsibilities. If the guardian fulfills all duties, the bond is void. However, if they mishandle estate assets or otherwise act improperly, the bond ensures that compensation will be available to the ward’s estate for any resulting loss.
