Form FAQ's
| Q: | How do I know the form I want to use is up-to-date? When do you update the forms? |
| A: |
This is the primary focus of our website. It is what sets us apart from the competition. Therefore, we are in regular contact with the courts ensuring all of the forms at our site remain up-to-date. Our forms are updated on our site as each individual court requires a form revision.
|
| Q: | When I click on the link to the form, the form is not displayed? |
| A: |
This problem is most likely caused by the browser version you are using. For Internet Explorer, you should be using 6.0 or higher, Netscape should be 8.0 or higher. To check the version you have, go to the "Help" button at the top of the browser and choose the "About" option. Also check to make sure that you have an Adobe Acrobat program on your computer. If you do not have Acrobat on your system, go to www.adobe.com to download an Acrobat program.
|
| Q: | How do I make a single purchase of a form? |
| A: |
While we still offer free downloads in a non-interactive format for any form on our site, we no longer offer purchases of interactive single forms. You will need to purchase form sets as part of a Premium Subscription. To learn more about the many benefits of our Premium Subscription, please click on the "Products" icon in our toolbar at the top of this page.
|
| Q: | How do I get to the fillable version of the forms I want? |
| A: |
You must have a Premium Subscription to download fillable forms. If you have a Premium Subscription, open the form you want, click on the interactive, Fillable form format that you want. The form will now download to your computer, usually in a new window ready for you to enter data. |
| Q: | Why am I having problems viewing and downloading forms? |
| A: |
There are several reasons you may be having this problem. The causes for this are:1. Your Internet browser version is too old to work correctly. |
| Q: | Why is it so slow when I download forms? |
| A: |
The interactive forms require large amounts of information that need to be downloaded. Depending on your Internet connection, this could require download times that seem like an eternity (we assure you it isn't). If you are still using a standard dial-up Internet connection, you may want to consider getting something faster, such as DSL or cable. |
| Q: | When are you going to have all forms interactive? |
| A: |
We are doing all we can to convert all of our forms into an interactive format. However, due to the constant changing of the court forms, we are invariably going to have forms “in process” and not yet available in a fillable format. Please check back to see if a form has been made available in its fillable format since we are doing uploads everyday. |
| Q: | When I'm filling out the form and click on “enter” to take me to the next line, nothing happens. |
| A: |
The ways to navigate a fillable form are via your “Tab” key or clicking your mouse in the form field. This is a common restriction in form formatting, and it cannot be changed. Please note that you can move backwards to previous fill fields using Shift+Tab.
|
| Q: | Many lawyers use WordPerfect. Will your company be providing forms in WordPerfect format any time soon? |
| A: |
No, we are not going to carry forms in the WordPerfect format.
|
| Q: | I have a case-profiling program. How do I unlock the forms? |
| A: |
When we format the forms for the Internet, they are locked to protect the text on the form from being altered. There is no way to unlock the forms for third party case-profiling programs. We do offer for our Premium Subscribers and users of MS Word, our Forms WorkFlow toolbar plug-in that is a proprietary case profiling program. To learn more about this product please go through our virtual Tour. To learn how to use all the features of AutoFill, please go through our Tutorial. Or you may visit the AutoFill Help page for a written description of how to use AutoFill. This can be printed and saved at your desk for future reference. |
| Q: | I don't know the name of the form, so how do I find the one I want? |
| A: |
If you have not done so already, we encourage you to go through our Tutorial. This will demonstrate for you the many alternative ways to find a form depending on what information you have available. You do need to know if it a Federal form or a state form. Once you've chosen this general jurisdiction from our home page, you will be taken to our Search screen. Type in whatever information you do know into the correct field and click Search. Our search engine is able to search by form number, words from the text of the form, or a variety of other ways. If you searched by the actual form name or number and it appears we are missing the form from the website, please click on "Request a Form." Provide as much information as you can about the form and we will do our best to find, process and post the form as quickly as possible. Note: It is prohibited by Federal Laws for us to give any type of legal advice, including the correct form for a given situation. |
| Q: | Can the font size be changed on the forms? |
| A: |
Our non-interactive forms may not be modified. Our interactive forms' font size may be modified in two ways. Forms WorkFlow toolbar has a font size adjustment. Additionally, you may unlock the form in MS Word, thus enable Word's font adjustment feature. |
| Q: | Can a form's fill field be made larger? |
| A: |
As a Premium Subscriber, you can download a form in MS Word. Forms WorkFlow's toolbar allows users to unlock the forms in Word, providing the full-functionality of Word's features which enable you to create, move and reshape the fill fields. If you are uncertain how to use all of Word's features to accomplish the modications you need to make, please refer to Word's Help file or go through our Tutorial. Note: Care must be exercised when a form is unlocked that it is not modified to the point that it would be rejected by the court. |
| Q: | Can I save to WordPerfect? |
| A: |
Technically, No. Forms formatted for one program cannot be saved by another program. Theoretically, if you were to download one of our forms in MS Word format, and you are running Word on your computer, you could then use Word to save the form (it is at that point a Word document) into WordPerfect.
|
| Q: | Will your forms integrate with our Document Management System? |
| A: |
If you have a Premium Subscription and download the forms in a file format that is accepted by your DMS (most likely MS Word), then you will be able to save, manage and open forms downloaded from our website as you would any other file in your DMS.
|
| Q: | Why don't I see the Fillable Forms buttons on the premium web-site when previewing a form? |
| A: |
One common cause of this behavior has been traced to a setting in Zone Alarm, a Firewall application, where its Ad Blocker feature is turned on. Resolution: Turn the Ad BLocker off and the buttons will appear |
