Your failure to appear at the contempt hearing may result in the issuance of an order of arrest. You have a right to counsel and that, if you believe you are indigent, you must apply for a public defender or court appointed counsel within three business days after receipt of the summons. The Court may refuse to grant a continuance at the time of the hearing for the purposes of your obtaining counsel, if you fail to make a good faith effort to retain counsel or to obtain a public defender. c. If you are found guilty of contempt, you could be sentenced to: 1) For a first offense, a fine of not more than Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250), a definite term of imprisonment of not more than thirty (30) days in jail, or both; For a second offense, a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500), a definite term of imprisonment of not more than sixty (60) days in jail, or both; or 2) 3) For a third offense, a fine of not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000), a definite term of imprisonment of not more than ninety (90) days in jail or both for a thirty or subsequent offense.
