An assignment must be made by instruments in writingduly executed. An assignment must include within the assignment instrument it self a provision expressly indi-cating the transfer of good will to the assignee.A separate assignment instrument and cover form must be submitted for each registered mark;if a mark is registered in more than one class, only one assignment instrument and cover formneed be submitted. A photocopy of the executed assignment instrument may be submitted inlieu of the original assignment instrument if it is certified by any of the parties thereto, or theirsuccessors, to be a true and correct copy of the original.The filing fee is $20 PER REGISTERED CLASS. Upon filing, the Secretary of State will issue in the name of the assignee a new certificate for theremainder of the term of the registration or of the last renewal thereof. THIS FILING DOES NOTEXTEND THE REGISTRATION PERIOD. An assignment of a registration is void as against any subsequent purchaser for valuable con-sideration without notice, unless it is recorded with the Secretary of State within three monthsafter the date thereof or prior to such subsequent purchase.
