GUIDELINE TO REFUSE A UCC RECORD PRESENTED FOR FILING Except as provided below, communication of a record to a filing office and tender of the filing fee or acceptance of the record by the filing office constitutes filing. Filing does not occur with respect to a record that the filing office refuses to accept because: General The record has not been communicated by a method or medium authorized by this filing by this filing office. (ORC 1309.516(B)(1)) An amount at least equal to the filing fee was not submitted. (ORC 1309.516(B)(2)) Filing office is unable to read or decipher the information. (ORC 1309.516(C)(1)) Filing office determined the document is not required or authorized to be filed or recorded with the secretary of state or the secretary of state has reasonable cause to believe the document is materially false or fraudulent. (ORC 1309.516(B)(8) and ORC 111.24(A)) The record includes any individual's social security number or federal tax identification number. (ORC 111.241(A)) INITIAL FINANCING STATEMENT Failure to provide the name of the debtor. (ORC 1309.516(B)(3)(a)) Failure to indicate whether the debtor is an individual or an organization.
