All applications must be accompanied by an Original Certificate from one of the courts to which you have already been admitted evidencing your admission and present good standing. Local Appellate Rule 46.1 requires that an applicant seeking admission be familiar with the contents of the Federal Rules of (1) Civil and Criminal Procedure, and (2) Appellate Procedure, as well as with the Local Appellate Rules ("LARs") and Internal Operating Procedures ("IOPs") of this Court. The rule further provides that the applicant read and understand those provisions of these rules dealing with briefs, motions, and appendices. Each applicant is required to attest to the foregoing when she/he signs Part I of the application for admission. A copy of the Local Appellate Rules and IOPs is enclosed. Admission may be by oral motion in open court or by mail on written motion, pursuant to the provisions of Local Appellate Rule 46.1(c) and (d). Please file in the Clerk's Office the following documents: (1) The completed application form, together with a check for $216.001 made payable to: Clerk, U.S. Court of Appeals. (a) (b) (2) For admission in Open Court, complete Only Part I. For admission on Written Motion, complete Part I and Part II. (NOTARIZE) Certificate of Good Standing (ORIGINAL ONLY), dated within one year, evidencing your admission to one of the courts listed above. The completed Attorney's Registration Card. Please sign. (3) Your completed application, together with the necessary documents, must be filed in the Clerk's Office at least two (2) days in advance of the date of your admission in open court. You are asked to appear in the Clerk's Office with the Attorney who will move for your admission at least one-half hour prior to the time when the Court is scheduled to convene. Because the opening time varies, it is requested that you call the business day prior to that on which you intend to seek admission to ascertain what time you and your sponsor need appear. * Disclosure of an Attorney's Social Security Number is requested solely for purpose of verifying the identity of the Attorney as a member of the bar of this Court.
