Description

JD-SC-33 - APPEAL; JOINT APPEAL; CROSS APPEAL; AMENDED APPEAL; CORRECTED FORM. This form is used in Connecticut to formally initiate an appeal, joint appeal, cross appeal, amended appeal, or corrected appeal to either the Supreme Court or the Appellate Court. It is required for parties who seek to challenge a trial court’s decision in civil, family, juvenile, or other case types. This form includes information about the case, the trial court’s judgment, the basis for the appeal, and the parties involved. It also requires the filing party to certify that copies have been provided to other counsel or self-represented parties. The appeal must be filed electronically unless an exemption applies, such as for incarcerated self-represented parties. Additional required documents, including a Preliminary Statement of Issues, Designation of Clerk Appendix Contents, Court Reporter’s Acknowledgment, and a Docketing Statement, must be submitted within ten days of filing the appeal. If the appeal is taken by the State of Connecticut, the form requires details about the judge who granted permission for the appeal. Filing fees may be required unless waived by the court. P.B.
