FBT - KANSAS FOREIGN BUSINESS TRUST APPLICATION. This form is used to register a business trust formed outside of Kansas with the Kansas Secretary of State. This application allows the foreign business trust to legally operate within Kansas. To complete the filing, the trust must submit a copy of its trust instrument and all amendments, as well as provide essential details including the trust’s legal name (matching exactly the name on the trust instrument), the jurisdiction of formation, the name and Kansas address of a registered resident agent, and the date it began doing business in Kansas (if applicable). The form also requires the names and addresses of all trustees, an irrevocable consent to service of process signed by all trustees, and certification that the submitted resolution is a true and correct copy.
