Description
CCR-A-310 - REQUEST FOR COURT APPOINTED INTERPRETER FOR CIVIL PROCEEDINGS IN THE CIRCUIT COURT. This form is used to request a court-appointed interpreter for a civil proceeding in Fairfax Circuit Court, Virginia. The court provides interpreters for individuals who are indigent, represented by Legal Services of Northern Virginia or the Fairfax Bar Pro Bono Project, or previously appointed an interpreter in a lower court and now require one for an appeal. It also applies to those needing sign language interpreters or CART (Communication Access Real-Time Translation). To request an interpreter, individuals must submit the required forms at least two weeks before the hearing (three weeks for sign language or CART) to the Judge’s Chambers or Clerk’s Office. If financial assistance is needed, they must also submit an Affidavit of Indigency and a Petition for Proceeding Without Payment of Fees or Costs (CC-1414). A judge will review the request and either approve or deny it. If approved, the Interpreter Coordinator will arrange for an interpreter; if denied, the petitioner must hire an interpreter independently from the court’s approved list. www.FormsWorkflow.com
